April 4: the day that will forever be remembered among my circle of friends as Epic Food Day. As part of a birthday celebration, we decided to hit as many places as possible on 7x7 Magazine's list of 100 things to eat in San Francisco before you die ( In thirteen hours, we made it to twelve locations. This photo is of no. 25: loaf of bread straight out of the oven at Tartine, soon to be slathered with the bonus Brillat-Savarin cheese from Bi-Rite Market. We had to go to Tartine twice to hit the "straight out of the oven" target. It was worth it. The bread was so hot, you couldn't touch it for long with your bare hands. You can even see steam in the upper left corner.
